    1. Weird I thought the strategy was to open a CVS across the street from a Walgreens. But it doesn’t seem like either plan works. 🤔

    2. Unlike CVS, who partnered with an Insurance company Aetna, I don’t think Walgreens found somebody with deep enough pockets, or the ability to create a monopoly like that.

  1. No surprise. Pharmacy hours continue to shrink. Pharmacy randomly closes whenever. Assuming
    lack of pharmacists. CVS vs Walgreens every few miles. Maybe it was the overbuilding that failed…

  2. I still prefer our nearby CVS for a quick pick up of soft drinks, snacks, greeting cards, etc. But we switched two years ago to a mail order pharmacy that delivers our prescriptions to our door for zero copays, which has obviously lost CVS our prescription business. I’m sure many others have found similar mail order service, which has had to have a major impact on the core business of the drug store chains.
