With the election just around the corner, WISH-TV Channel 8 plans to beef up its political coverage with a new weekly show dedicated to politics in Indiana, station parent Circle City Broadcasting announced Thursday.

The 30-minute show, called All INdiana Politics, will run at 9:30 a.m. on Sundays starting Sept. 27.

News anchor Phil Sanchez, a 10-year veteran at WISH, will host the show, which will focus on government and political topics affecting central Indiana and the entire state.

The show will feature interviews with political and civic leaders, panel discussions and news contributions from WISH staffers Brooke Martin, Julia Deng, Richard Essex and Katiera Winfrey.

The show will run in a time slot currently occupied by general news coverage.

“We’re continually reevaluating our programming to make sure we’re bringing viewers the content they want,” said Circle City Broadcasting CEO DuJuan McCoy in written remarks. “We’re always seeking new ways to engage and empower our viewers across all our platforms. All INdiana Politics will help educate our audience in an encapsulated, focused format.”

  1. I wouldn’t watch a “political” program where only reporters appear. The competition, “Indiana Week in Review” on WFYI radio and TV, features experienced political party leaders. It is both informative and entertaining.

  2. Kevin – you are funny!! But I hope you are correct. The “hope” for this venture is that Circle City Broadcasting doesn’t have a network affiliation? REAL JOURNALISM over MSM activism would be amazing.
