Heidi Cruz will visit Indianapolis and Martinsville as part of a larger tour of Indiana to campaign for her husband, presidential candidate Ted Cruz, as the Indiana primary approaches.
The events will take place Thursday and Friday. Her husband will also be in Indianapolis on Thursday to speak at the Indiana Republican Party’s Spring Dinner. The visits will be the first Indiana campaign visits for Cruz and his wife.
Heidi Cruz is a managing director at Goldman Sachs, which she joined in 2005, and where she runs the Houston wealth management unit. She’s on an unpaid leave of absence for the campaign.
She met her husband while they were both working on George W. Bush’s campaign. She later worked in the Bush administration.
Heidi Cruz is scheduled to do a meet-and-greet at 1:45 p.m. Thursday in Martinsville and attend an Indianapolis campaign office grand opening at 3:30 p.m. Friday. She’ll also be in Evansville, Jeffersonville and Fort Wayne over those two days. Details are listed here.
Indiana’s primary is May 3 and Cruz is locked in a battle with Donald Trump for the nomination. Trump leads in the delegate count but Cruz has been closing on him. John Kasich is also in the Republican race.
Trump will be at the Indiana State Fairgrounds for a rally Wednesday. Ticket information for the Trump event can be found here.
