Democrat Bernie Sanders will make his first campaign appearances in Indiana on Wednesday with events at Indiana and Purdue universities.
Sanders has scheduled a morning rally Wednesday at the Cordova Recreational Sports Center on the Purdue campus in West Lafayette. Doors open at 9 a.m.
He has also planned a rally Wednesday evening at the Indiana University Auditorium in Bloomington. Doors open at 5 p.m.
Tickets—available at BernieSanders.com—are required but do not guarantee admission, which is first come, first served.
Recent polls show Sanders is trailing Hillary Clinton in Indiana as they vie for the Democratic nomination for president. And Clinton has a big lead in delegates nationally, one she is expected to extend after primaries Tuesday in Pennsylvania and four other East Coast states.
Clinton will make two stops in northwest Indiana on Tuesday while her husband—former President Bill Clinton—has a campaign stop planned for Indianapolis.
Hoosiers go to the polls on May 3.
