Roundup: City Center readies for home store, gift shop, nail salon; volleyball venue opens in Westfield

Carmel City Center will host a lineup of new and expanded shops this summer, developer Pedcor Cos. has announced.

In addition to The Cake Bake Shop, which will open in the new Baldwin & Chambers Building in City Center this fall, three other businesses have committed to taking new space in the city's signature development.

Technically two buildings that are attached, Baldwin & Chambers is a four-story, mixed-use development nearing completion just south of City Center's first phase, with 31,000 square feet of commercial space on its street and plaza levels.

Oliver’s Twist, a paper and gift store, is relocating from Clay Terrace to 800 square feet in the Baldwin & Chambers building this summer. In the meantime, shoppers can visit City Center’s Beauty + Grace, which will operate an Oliver’s Twist pop-up shop until the new location is open.

Addendum Gallery, a home and lifestyle store, will double its space to about 2,000 square feet when it expands into the Baldwin & Chambers building this summer.

Addendum Gallery has operated in Carmel for 15 years and currently is located at 736 Hanover Place in City Center. It’s the only MacKenzie-Childs retailer in Indiana and the first Michael Aram Fine Jewelry retailer, according to a news release from Carmel City Center.

In addition, Be.You.Tiful Nails will join current merchants Endeavor Boutique, Graeter’s Ice Cream and the SEP Product Design Studio in the Nash Building along Range Line Road this summer. Leasing 1,500 square feet, Be.You.Tiful Nails will offer manicures, pedicures and waxing, among other services.

In other retail and development news in Hamilton County:

—Cunningham Restaurant Group has opened its Noblesville Bru Burger Bar at 350 Westfield Road. The restaurant seats up to 140 guests and serves lunch and dinner seven days a week.

—In Westfield, Sports Clips will open a 1,350-square-foot store in the Grassy Branch Shopping Center, 3300 E. State Road 32.

—Westfield’s first beach volleyball venue, iBeach31, opened its doors April 13 to players of all ages and experience levels. The venue, located at 17341 Westfield Park Road, features six white-sand volleyball courts, volleyball leagues for adults and high schoolers, volleyball clinics for young players in kindergarten through eighth-grade and fitness classes.

—Texas Roadhouse Holdings LLC has filed plans to open a 6,994 square-foot restaurant at 14758 Greyhound Plaza in Westfield. It would be the chain's eighth restaurant in the nine-county Indianapolis metropolitan area.

—Apex Taekwondo Center is leasing 2,400 square feet at Fishers Landing, 7247 Fishers Landing Drive.

—Also in Fishers, construction of a new Starbucks at 116^th Street and Olio Road has begun. The Fishers City Council approved plans in 2016 for the coffee shop to open in the Village at Geist retail center. It’s expected to open sometime this summer.

—Stony Creek Church of Christ has filed plans to build a church in Noblesville at 10005 Cumberland Pointe Blvd. The church proposes constructing a 3,800-square-foot building with 100 seats in the sanctuary and 25 parking spaces, according to city documents.

—The Embassy Suites Convention Center in Noblesville opened its doors April 12 and hosted the Noblesville Chamber of Commerce’s Taste of Noblesville. Located near Exit 210 off of Interstate 69, the center features nearly 200 suites, as well as 29,000-square-feet of space for meetings and events.
