A 40-year-old Indianapolis manufacturer this week moved its operations to a formerly vacant Whitestown industrial building it's buying that is six times the size of its long-time headquarters in Indianapolis.
WYN Industries Inc. was previously located in a building at 86th Street and Michigan Road. Its new building, at 6210 S. Indianapolis Road on the west side of Interstate 65 and north of Whitestown Parkway, will allow it to add as many as 16 employees to the four who work there now.
The company, which had operated out of 1,300 square feet, manufactures, fabricates and installs fiberglass coatings and structure products for corrosive environments in the industrial market. Many of the products are used in water treatment and wastewater facilities across the state. Its new building is 8,000 square feet.
"We've needed more room for a long time," said owner Jake Hogue, whose grandfather started the company in 1978.
The $800,000 move was financed by a loan from First Internet Bank and Indiana Statewide Certified Development Corp. through a U.S. Small Business Administration loan program meant to facilitate small-business expansion.
