When Chris Daughtry and his band take the stage at the Lawn at White River State Park next weekend, it will be after being
introduced by a familiar face.
Ryan Seacrest, host of "American Idol," will be doing the honors for the Saturday concert.
Daughtry was a season 5 finalist on that show and has since been one of the bigger AI also-rans who has found break-out popularity
(and, it seems, one of the few who hasn't popped up in a Broadway show).
The weekend lineup also includes a Friday concert with Stone Temple Pilots and a Sunday performance by the Goo Goo Dolls
and LL Cool J.
All three concerts are free.

Oh, and just in case you are wondering what Seacrest's first-season AI co-host, Brian Dunkleman, is up to, the man
who quit the most popular show on TV will be appearing this weekend at Side Splitters Comedy Club in Knoxville, TN. Details
on that gig here.
