The Putlizer Prizes for 2009 were announced today and among the winners was Jennifer Higdon's Violin Concerto, which
had its world premiere at Hilbert Circle Theatre courtesy of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. The ISO co-commissioned
the piece. Details on the award here.

Congratulations to all involved at the ISO. Rare is the Indianapolis production that earns national attention, let alone
one singled out for such an honor.

Here's hoping that the award focuses more attention on the work being performed—and created—here.
