–Indianapolis Opera will open its 2010/11 season with "The Mikado," a production that was canceled last season.
It's set to run Oct. 15 and 17 with William Fabris (IO's "Pirates of Penzance") directing.
–The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra has added an Aug. 15 special event to its Symphony on the Prairie schedule. Garrison
Keillor will host "A Prairie Home Companion: Summer Love" concert that will include appearances by singer/songwriter/fiddler
Sara Watkins and sound-effects man Fred Newman. General public tickets go on sale May 10.
-On the community theater side, Carmel Repertory Theatre will be offering the local premiere of Jason Robert Brown's
Broadway musical "13." Auditions for the all-teen show are in June with the production running in October.
–The Cleveland Symphony, which canceled an IU Bloomington visit due to a musicians' strike, has rescheduled. Look for
the acclaimed orchestra to visit in January for a residency leading to a Jan. 25 concert.
