Some interesting stuff from the in-box:
–One of the expected highlights of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra's upcoming pops season is a celebration of the music of Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schonberg ("Les Miserables," "Miss Saigon"), with the duo here in Indy to help develop the program with maestro Jack Everly. With the announcement of the singers, however, the program looks to be even more of a must-see. Among those joining Everly and the ISO will be Stephanie J. Block (who played leads in "Wicked" and B&S's "The Pirate Queen") and Terrence Mann (Javert in B'way's "Les Miserables" and Rum Tug Tugger in "Cats").
–Also in ISO news, Earth, Wind & Fire will be playing live with the Symphony in a concert at The Lawn at White River State Park on Sept. 11.
–The Galaxy 14 will be the only theater in Indianapolis screening "Giselle in 3D," the first 3D ballet. The one-day-only screening will take place July 12. The production was pre-recorded in St. Petersburg, Russia.
–Beef & Boards Dinner Theater is squeezing an additional show into its well-packed schedule. Running Dec. 28-Jan. 8 will be "Jack Milo's Baggy Pants Burlesque." The original show will star Doug Stark and Jeff Stockberger, along with Milo, who appeared on screen in "That Thing You Do" and the recent "Atlas Shrugged" adaptation.
