For me, the weekend included "Clybourne Park" on Broadway and "Carousel" at the Goodspeed Opera House in Connecticut. Plus listening to some L.A. Theatre Works recordings of George Bernard Shaw plays as I look forward to my first visit to the Shaw Festival in Canada.
I also dug back into one of my favorite novels, Ann Beattie's "Chilly Scenes of Winter," which I haven't read in 20 years. And I saw "The Dark Knight Rises"–of which I'll have more to say in an upcoming column.
And you? What did you hear, see or do this weekend?
Did you catch Shakespeare in the Park? Get the most out of Indiana Black Expo's Summer Celebration? Attend "With a Whimper" at the Phoenix or get lost in the flicks at the Indianapolis International Film Festival (both of which are still going on, by the way)?
