It's the season of season announcements, with schedules expected to arrive shortly from most of Indy's major performing arts organizations.
Attendees at Dance Kaleidoscope's current "Piaf Plus" program (I'll be posting thoughts on that one soon) were privy to the scoop on what's coming from the dance company for 2013/2014.
The season gets started with "New Dimensions," which will include a revival of David Hochoy's "Iconoglass" and an opportunity to see Cynthia Pratt's "With The Whole Against the Sky," which premiered at Butler University's Mid-Winter Dance Festival.
January will bring a double-bill "American Rhapsody," set to George Gershwin's "An American in Paris" and "Rhapsody in Blue." Students also get involved here, with the inclusion of dancers from Indiana University.
Lest a season go by without DK's hitting the jukebox for hit songs, March's "Kings and Queens of Country" lets Hochoy loose on tunes from female country stars while Cynthia Pratt finds inspiration in songs by the guys.
Finally, in what could be the season's most interesting program, DK heads to the Indianapolis Museum of Art's Toby Theatre for "Picture This," featuring work inspired by IMA paintings.
