Talk about making a commitment. Jack Everly, principal pops conductor for the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra has extended his contract through the 2022-23 season.
The Richmond, Indiana native and IU Jacobs School of Music graduate became music director for the ISO's Yuletide Celebration in 1994 and was upgraded to the pops position in 2002.
He's not ours alone, though. Everly also plays a similar role with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and the National Arts Centre Orchestra of Ottawa. He also can be seen on PBS leading the National Symphony Orchestra for Memorial Day and Fourth of July concerts.
This week, he'll be leading the ISO in its final pops performance of the season, Cirque de la Symphonie. He'll be back for Symphony on the Prairie in July for a pair of Classic FM concerts
