Given the frequent sell-out status of movies at the Indianapolis Museum of Art, it stands to reason that Newfields would attempt to make room for even more attendees. And that's what's happening with the reconfigured Winter Nights movie series.
While the titles selected this season may seem disconnected, there is a thread: Each has been celebrated for its memorable music.
The lineup:
Jan. 12: "The Adventures of Robin Hood" and "The Red Shoes"
Jan 19: "Shaft" and "Trainspotting"
Jan. 20: "Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World" and "Across the Universe"
Jan. 26: "Breathless" and "Elevator to the Gallows"
Feb. 9: "Black Orpheus" and "Pan's Labyrinth"
Feb. 10: "Carmen Jones" and "The Umbrellas of Cherbourg"
Admission, consistent with last summer's film series, is $12 for a single film and $20 for a double. Members get that cut back to $8 and $14.
