Numerically, it can be a confusing season for movie goers. Not only is "District 9" already in theaters, but the film version of the musical "Nine," due out later this year, is already generating some buzz.
But the upcoming IBJ Night at the Movies doesn’t focus on either of those films.
No, the one we’ll be screening is "9," the PG-13 rated animated adventure based on the same-named Academy-Award nominated short. It concerns a group of numbered, lab-built "stitchpunks" (voiced by, among others, Elijah Wood, Christopher Plummer, and Jennifer Connelly) trying to figure out what happened — and survive — in a post-apocalypse world.
Want to go? I’ll be hosting a screening at AMC Castleton Square 14 on September 8 at, of course, 9:09 p.m.
To claim a ticket, just post your favorite numbered books, films, songs, etc. here AND drop me a note at lharry@ibj.com with "9 tickets" in the subject line. I will begin contacting winners on Thursday. Good luck.
