Another multi-tenant retail building is on tap for the Michigan Road corridor.
Carmel-based JDF Development LLC has filed plans for a 9,500-square-foot building that will be located at the southwest corner of U.S. 421 and Bennett Parkway.
The property is located to the east of the residential apartment community called Domain at Bennett Farms and to the north of the 22-acre property owned by Wal-Mart Stores Inc.
After 10 years of fighting a court case against the big-box retailer, the town of Zionsville opted not to appeal the latest court ruling that allows Wal-Mart to construct a store on Michigan Road north of 106th Street. But the Bentonville, Arkansas-based company has not said whether it will build there.
The Shoppes at Bennett Farm project is expected to cost $3 million.
Building plans show space for three tenants and two have already been determined: Moe’s Southwest Grill will occupy 2,700 square feet and Sherwin-Williams will occupy 4,000 square feet.
Moe’s has six Indianapolis-area locations right now, including one in Carmel and one in Fishers.
JDF plans to start construction in the spring but still needs approval from the Carmel Plan Commission and Carmel Board of Appeals before it can move forward.
