The Irish pub and restaurant Fionn MacCool’s has closed. The hangout at 8211 116th St. in Fishers opened in October 2005 with an interior designed and constructed in Ireland. It offered more than 20 varieties of whiskey and 40 types of Scotch, along with standard pub fare such as shepherd’s pie and corned beef and cabbage. Owners Bill and Michelle Mills announced the Dec. 16 closing with postings on Twitter and Facebook. "We would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere appreciation for your patronage and dedication to Fionn MacCool’s Irish Pub and Restaurant during the past four+ years," the owners wrote on the bar’s Facebook page. "2009 has been a challenging year for most of us and it is with deep regret that we are not able to withstand the economic crisis and must close our business."
