The City of Franklin
is offering two vacant buildings for sale, including the 1936 post office that served as Franklin’s City Hall from the early
1980s until 2008. Mayor Fred Paris is suggesting a restaurant would be a good tenant for the former city hall, which sits
near the Artcraft Theatre and the Willard Restaurant. The city said the property at 55 W. Madison St. appraised for between
$225,000 and $275,000. The other building for sale, a former planning building at 44 N. Jackson St., appraised for $85,000
to $110,000. Bids for one or both of the parcels will be accepted from Feb. 17 through March 16.
