Soup shop opens on Circle, Hearthstone closes in Fishers

Here's the latest rundown of retail openings and closings throughout the Indy metropolitan area:

• Soupremacy, a soup shop, opened Jan. 16 at 7 E. Market St., formerly occupied by Teapots n Treasures. The locally based eatery is operated by Chuck Brewer, a Potbelly franchisee who owns the restaurant at 55 Monument Circle.

• Bub’s Burgers & Ice Cream opened Jan. 21 in Zionsville, at 620 S. Main St., anchoring the new South Village of Zionsville retail development. The stand-alone restaurant includes outdoor seating on a covered deck overlooking Eagle Creek. Bub’s is operated by Matt Frey and also has locations in Carmel and Bloomington. It’s known for its one-pound Big Ugly Burger.

• Sunrise Cafe is set to open at 7387 N. Shadeland Ave. Sunrise Cafe also has locations at 11711 N. Meridian St. in Carmel and 9767 E. 116th St. in Fishers.

• King’s Market, a “high-end convenience store,” is set to open in February at 1535 Prospect St. in the former Fountain Square Laundry building. Amandeep Saggu, a Subway franchisee, bought the 3,000-square-foot building and is opening the store in partnership with her brother, she said.

• Outback Steakhouse opened Jan. 15 at 10220 N. Michigan Road in Carmel, just north of the Olive Garden, which opened Dec. 2. Outback has four locations in the metropolitan area—three in Indianapolis and one in Greenwood.  

• Massage Envy, a Scottsdale, Ariz.-based massage provider, and Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt, an Oklahoma City-based yogurt chain, have opened in first-floor retail space at the Broad Ripple Parking Garage.

• Tucanos Brazilian Grill is set to open in February at Noblesville’s Hamilton Town Center. The Lakewood, Colo.-based chain features authentic Brazilian churrasco dining. This is Tucanos second location in Indiana—the first opened in Fort Wayne in November.

• Roosters Men’s Grooming Center, a Lapeer, Mich.-based franchise offering “a classic American barbershop experience,” has opened in Fishers Town Center at 8395 E. 116th St. Darrell and Annette Cousert are owners of the shop, which is the first Roosters to open in Indiana.

• Lake City Bank has a second office in the Indianapolis area, at State Road 37 and 131st Street in Fishers. The Warsaw-based bank will host a ribbon-cutting at the 3,700-square-foot branch Jan. 23.

• Qdoba Mexican Grill has opened at 5630 W. 86th St. in the Traders Point shopping center.  The Wheat Ridge, Colo.-based chain has 23 locations in the Indianapolis area.

• Papa Murphy’s has filed plans to take 1,343 square feet at 5868 E. 71st St. The take-and-bake pizza chain has more than 20 locations in the Indianapolis area.

• Chinese Take-Out has filed plans to occupy 1,650 square feet at 3100 Meridian Park Drive in Greenwood.

• TGI Fridays in Westfield and Hearthstone Bistro in Fishers have closed.

Hearthstone owners Mark and Sandy Goff posted online: “Unfortunately, we were never able to attract enough regular business as the original Hearthstone Coffee House & Pub or the recently re-launched Hearthstone Bistro to be financially sustainable. We took a shot, we fell short, … and now it is time to move on.” The restaurant was located at 8235 E. 116th St.
