A handful of tidbits to report from Zionsville:
• Books & Brews, the combination used bookstore and brewpub, is set to open its second location, in the Boone Village Shopping Center. The space, at 65 Boone Village, was last occupied by Zionsville Grill and is next to the Boone Village Barber Shop.
Jason Wuerful launched Books & Brews in March 2014 at 9402 Uptown Drive near Interstate 69 and East 96th Street on Indianapolis’ north-east side.
Wuerful says on a Monday Facebook post that liquor and building permits have been submitted for the Zionsville location, where new walls and flooring are being installed.
The space will feature a music stage, tabletop and retro video games, a small bar and, of course, books. A slightly expanded menu from its current roster of grilled-cheese sandwiches and charcuterie plates will be available.
All of the beer served at the Indianapolis store is brewed on site by Wuerfel.
• In downtown Zionsville, Rush on Main is opening at 112 S. Main St. The sports bar and restaurant will feature “Chicago-style eats”—hence the ode to Rush Street in the name.
• Next door, Three Dog Bakery, which specializes in dog treats, is expanding with a new store at 120 S. Main St. The retailer also has two Indianapolis locations—444 Massachusetts Ave. and 844 Broad Ripple Ave.—and one in Noblesville at 13904 Town Center Blvd.
Elsewhere,
• Tervis, a maker of insulated drinkware, is slated to open a store next month in 2,300 square feet at Circle Centre mall.
The location will be Tervis’ 44th store in the United States, and will be across from H&M. North Venice, Florida-based Tervis has been manufacturing insulated tumblers since 1946.
