A new cabaret is planned for a one-story historic building at 1116 E. Prospect St. in Fountain Square. White Rabbit Cabaret will provide live entertainment (not adult-oriented), food and beverage service, performing arts classes, rehearsal space, workshops and special events, according to an application that won approval on Aug. 5 from the Indianapolis Historic Preservation Commission. The 1912 building most recently was home to a Rent-A-Center. The brick commercial building served as the Fountain Square Hardware Company until the 1930s. The cabaret will seat 60 to 80 guests and be open Tuesday through Thursday from 5 to 11 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m.
