A formerly
lifeless stretch of wall on the northern edge of Circle Centre mall is now an engaging tribute to three
of the city’s most notable attractions. The new display, which spans three giant windows of the façade
along Washington Street near Illinois Street, is a project of the Convention & Visitors Association
and Simon Malls, in partnership with the Indianapolis Zoo, the Indianapolis Museum of Art and the Children’s
Museum of Indianapolis. The displays were designed by locally based Young & Laramore and include a leaping
dolphin, a Modigliani oil painting and a T-Rex skeleton in the top windows. The lower windows include quotes about
the Zoo, IMA and Children’s Museum on top of large photos. What a great way to remind visitors of three attractions
requiring a short drive from downtown. (IBJ Photo/Cory Schouten)
