Indianapolis-based developer Kite Realty Group Trust is asking the cities of Carmel and Indianapolis to ante up incentives for a trio of mixed-use projects in its pipeline.
The debate was the first of 2019 between Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett, a Democrat, and Republican state Sen. Jim Merritt. The debate largely focused on infrastructure and regionalism, inequity and public safety.
The governor wants to improve teacher pay somehow, someday, as long as the increases are “systematic” and “sustainable.” Those are lovely words. The governor needs to start by committing to a substantial pay raise, based on state dollars. He also needs to act now.
