Halas Harbor, named for the team’s founder, George Halas, is being billed as a privately funded, shovel-ready site that could break ground as early as June of this year.
These counties join Allen County as possible sites for a new casino under changes to House Bill 1038. Some Indianapolis-area lawmakers are still pushing for Marion County to be included in that group.
If the commissioners can’t agree on a new number, the tournament would automatically stay at 12, with a deadline of Dec. 1, 2026, to make any changes for the following season.
