Tennis great Chris Evert will be making an appearance in Indianapolis, at the Julian Center’s new fundraising event, Tennis & Tastings.
The event is set to run from 12:30-5:30 p.m. on Sept. 15 at Meridian Hills Country Club, 7099 Spring Mill Road.
VIP attendees will have the opportunity to play tennis and interact with Evert. Sponsorship and event package information are available at juliancenter.org.
Proceeds will benefit the Julian Center and its mission to empower survivors of domestic and sexual violence.
“We’re excited to host this new event and create a fun and enjoyable day for tennis and sports enthusiasts,” said Catherine O’Connor, president of the center, in a press release. “Chris Evert has been a longtime supporter of women and children’s issues worldwide, and we are grateful she has chosen to be a part of our efforts to raise awareness of the services we offer to those who have experienced domestic and sexual violence.”
A native of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Evert, 63, is one of the top-winning women’s champions of all time. In 1972, she embarked on a 56-match winning streak that included victories at Wimbledon and The French Open.
Overall, she won 18 Grand Slam tournament singles championships and three doubles titles in her 17-year pro career. Evert was unanimously inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 1995.
Tennis & Tastings is sponsored by Scott Campbell Custom Homes.
