TechPoint is now accepting nominations for its 2010 Mira Awards.
The awards are meant to showcase Indiana’s high-tech success stories and raise the profile of the tech community.
Long tracking the emergence of information technology firms involved in the health and life sciences sector, the state’s
IT trade group, TechPoint, is undergoing a mitosis of sorts to help fuel the trend. It has created Advancing
Life Science & Health Care Information Technology, or ALHIT, which will focus on growing this subset of the IT realm.
The high holy day of Indiana’s technology industry is getting a new theme this year. The TechPoint Tech Summit will this year be known as the TechPoint Innovation Summit, Sept. 28-29 at the Indiana Convention Center.
The state’s technology initiative, TechPoint, is adding two categories to its annual Mira awards: health care IT and corporate
IT.
Indiana legislators are signaling that everyone who receives funding from state government must tighten their belts as tax
collections fall short of projections. That could cause pressure for cuts to key technology incentives.
Technology advocate Techpoint is considering merging into the Central Indiana Corporate Partnership–a move that would leave CICP CEO Mark Miles atop all three of Indiana’s major business-development initiatives.
