Grants
Sixteen Indiana not-for-profit organizations received more than $1.5 million in grants from the Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust, including $180,000 to the Hoosier Environmental Council Inc., $175,000 to Volunteers of America of Indiana Inc. and $150,000 each to La Plaza Inc. and Historic Landmarks Foundation of Indiana.

Twelve youth-serving organizations throughout Indiana have been selected to receive a total of $50,000 in Susan Williams CHAMPS Grants from the Indiana Sports Corp.

Assistance League of Indianapolis received a $4,000 donation from the Sertoma Club of Broad Ripple.

Dayspring Center received a $10,000 donation from Rock Bottom Brewery, as well as a portion of the profits from the April 24 Spring Lager Tapping Party.

Sheltering Wings, charity partner for the inaugural Hendricks County Home & Garden Show, received $375 from show sponsor Indiana Members Credit Union.

Fifteen local organizations that prepare students for academic success received a total of $100,000 in grants from the Junior League of Indianapolis.

Indiana Partnership Center received a grant of $150,000 from Lilly Endowment Inc. to advance the involvement of parents and the community in schools.

Todd Relue, Plews Shadley Racher & Braun LLP, has been selected to the Indiana Bar Foundation’s 2013 Fellows Class.

Alisa Schaefer, Providence Cristo Rey High School, received a full-tuition, four-year, Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship.

Vine & Branch Inc. received the Outstanding Company Contribution Award from the Tree Care Industry Association.

Cerulean was named to Gayot.com’s Top 10 list of the best new restaurants in America.

Craig E. Fenneman, Rick L. James, Myrta J. Pulliam and Charles J. Surack were recognized by the Independent Colleges of Indiana with induction into The Indiana Academy.

The International School of Indiana was recognized as one of the top high schools in the United States in the Washington Post’s High School Challenge rankings report.

Express Employment Professionals was selected as one of The Indianapolis Star’s Top Workplaces of 2013.

Dan Cory and Josh Tatum, Plews Shadley Racher & Braun LLP, were selected to receive Indiana Lawyer’s 2013 Leadership in Law Up & Coming Lawyer Awards.

12 Stars Media earned two bronze honors at the 34th annual Telly Awards.

Eli Lilly and Co., the Anderson Police Department and Hubcap Express in Fort Wayne, were named semi-finalists for the 2013 Secretary of Defense Support Freedom Award for their support of their National Guard and Reserve employees.

The Indiana Pacers media relations department was recognized by the Pro Basketball Writers Association as the first two-time winner of the Brian McIntyre Award for professionalism and excellence.

Ron Elberger, Bose McKinney & Evans LLP, was named a Distinguished Barrister and Oni Harton and Weston Overturf were recognized as Up and Coming Lawyers by Indiana Lawyer.

Paul Corsaro, Ice Miller LLP, received Catholic Charities Indianapolis’ 2013 Spirit of Service Award for Community Service.

Maria Meschi, Emerging Leaders, received Meeting Professionals International’s RISE Award for Young Professional Achievement for her contributions to the Indiana chapter of MPI.

Intermark Partners Strategic Management LLC received a Patent for Humanity Award from the U.S. Department of Commerce for its Nutra-Iso technology.

Indianapolis City Ballet’s Young Stars of Ballet, which was filmed by WFYI Productions, was named a finalist for a regional Emmy by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
