3 thoughts on “Indiana health chief: Pandemic ‘far from over’

    1. If you saw pictures from most IHSAA games, it’s not surprising … as last year, they were super spreader events waiting to happen.

  1. The same thing was said when restrictions were lifted last year … and the number of cases came roaring back.

Granted, vaccines were not available at that time, but the message received from lifting restrictions is clear – the pandemic is considered “over” by the general public.

A much wiser move – but one not acceptable to the crank caucus that comprises the majority of the Indiana GOP in the Legislature – would have been to announce the lifting of restrictions 6-8 weeks after vaccinations are available to the entire eligible population (16+).

Because, if you’re listening to the data, that’s when the pandemic can be considered over. When everyone who wants one can get a shot, and it has time to take effect.

Thoughts and prayers for everyone who gets sick during this time thanks to the Indiana GOP … the pro-life party.
