I wonder if the report could identify the number of elderly people who received ventilator “treatment”? Here, I respectfully submit that ventilators were the wrong course of treatment. At a time where I reading studies where as little as 1 out of 20 ventilator patients was surviving past 30 days, our states were frantically calling for ventilators. I respectfully submit that an overlay of ventilator treatment should be placed on the death curve to see if there is a correlation. Some people surely would have died from Covid-19 anyway; but I think the numbers in the U.S. were higher than elsewhere because we prescribed the wrong course of treatment, and because our system was stretched thin by a variety of factors that likely increased medical errors.
This is the opening from the abstract of a 2017 article about medical errors: “Recent studies of medical errors have estimated errors may account for as many as 251,000 deaths annually in the United States (U.S)., making medical errors the third leading cause of death. Error rates are significantly higher in the U.S. than in other developed countries such as Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Germany and the United Kingdom (U.K). At the same time less than 10 percent of medical errors are reported.”
