Indiana also reported the deaths of five more people from COVID-19, raising the cumulative number to 12,622.
The department reported the testing of 3,409 new individuals.
Statewide hospitalizations due to COVID-19 rose from 617 on Saturday to 655 on Sunday. The high mark was 3,460, set on Nov. 30.
The state said more than 1.08 million Hoosiers had been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as of Monday at 5 a.m. More than 1.6 million had received the first dose of a two-dose vaccination.

Try to stay vigilant. Our positivity rate and hospitalizations are both rising from the nadir in the middle of March. My fear is that we will have increases (and comparatively higher numbers) through April before the numbers tail off starting in May. So, keep washing your hands and taking care of yourself.
