Music of the Earth Festival
Last year, for its Music of the Cosmos Festival, the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra looked outward. This time, it looks inward, at music inspired by the Earth itself. “The Sound of Music”
Broadway in Indianapolis brings to down the latest tour of the Rodgers & Hammerstein chestnut. This time, the emphasis is on greater naturalism rather than recognizable stars in the lead roles. The praised-elsewhere production was directed by Broadway vet Jack O’Brian, best known for such hits as “Hairspray” and the currently running “The Front Page.” Here’s hoping audiences can resist singing along with the family tunes.
