A vacant former PNC Bank branch on a prominent corner in downtown Zionsville has a new tenant.
The town announced Thursday that it would provide—on a month to month basis—the 1,200-square-foot building at 390 S. Main St. to Boosterville, a 3-year-old firm that offers an online payment and fundraising application.
Boosterville will not be charged rent for use of the space, but is required to pay for utilities and keep the building in “good order,” according to the agreement.
Boosterville, co-founded by Pam and Tom Cooper, got its start in the town’s co-working space, known as zWorks, and has grown enough to need dedicated office space. The company's product is a payment platform (app or card) that directs a portion of the sale to the user's favorite cause.
The town purchased the PNC Bank site on the northwest corner of Sycamore and Main in 2013 for $650,000 to have control over future development on the property. The building has been vacant since the bank closed the branch in 2013.
According to a press release from Zionsville, “plans for future redevelopment are still undetermined.”
“As we continue to study and discuss the best options for development of this site, utilizing this building as office space for Boosterville is an ideal arrangement,” Zionsville Mayor Tim Haak said in a written statement. “Getting its start in zWorks, Boosterville has proved to be a successful up-and-coming startup that has already started to leave its mark in Zionsville.”
