- Orange Leaf Yogurt plans to open at least two new locations by year's end, adding to existing stores in Carmel and Fishers. The next location for franchisees Mark and Christy Baugh is in Noblesville at 141st Street and State Road 37. The store is slated to open in late October. The Oklahoma City-based chain also plans new locations for Brownsburg, Franklin, Indianapolis, Plainfield, Shelbyville and Zionsville.
- Yogi Frozen Yogurt, a homegrown competitor, last week opened a second location in Fishers. The new one is along Allisonville Road just north of 116th Street, and the first is at 116th and Brooks School Road. The chain is owned by the Elscott family of Fishers.
- FroYo opened in August along 82nd Street just east of Castleton Square Mall. The independent shop offers 16 flavors, the most among local frozen yogurt concepts. It occupies a former bank branch including a "flavor" vault and has a large outdoor seating area.
- Yo Twist Yogurt and Coffee has filed plans to open a 336-square-foot shop at Washington Square Mall. Owner Moussa Khoury says the shop, in part of the former Macy's, initially will sell from a window but Khoury hopes to eventually offer a self-serve option.
