Just as a reminder, this is the end of my run as the voice of The Dose. I’m handing over the blog, starting Friday, to John Russell, IBJ’s new health care reporter. This will be a step up for you as readers. John was one of my bosses when I worked at the Indianapolis Star. And since then, he’s become highly decorated as a reporter covering both health care and utilities.
I want to thank all the readers of The Dose. Since I launched the blog in May 2013, I’ve learned so much from all of you, either through the comments you post on the blog or in emails you send me directly. You’ve tolerated my mistakes, some small and some really big, mistakes causes by harried sloppiness and mistakes caused my own failures to understand the many complexities of U.S. health care. Health care is so big that no one, not even the sharpest industry veterans, can get their minds around all parts of it all at once.
So thank you for your interest, thank you for your patience and, finally, thank you for caring about health care in Indiana. There are too many lives, too many jobs, too much money and too much a part of our collective future at stake not to care. So, please, keep reading as John guides us all through the next chapters in the unfolding health care story.
I am moving on to new and exciting opportunities here at IBJ. I will be writing longer-term, in-depth stories on a range of topics, including health care, while also helping IBJ's other reporters write such stories. On top of that, I will be overseeing all the opinion columns IBJ publishes. If any of you would like to contact me in the future, you can reach me by email at jwall@ibj.com.
If you want to reach John Russell directly, you can call him at 317-472-5383 or jrussell@ibj.com.
Take care.
J.K.
